With over 20 years of experience working in health policy and with a Masters in Public Policy from Duke University, Romy Gelb-Zimmer is Director of Regulatory Affairs at the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) where she is responsible for the development and implementation of the association’s federal regulatory strategies. Prior to joining the AANA, she spent over six years with the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) working on such issues as health reform, the Medicare prescription drug benefit, chronic disease prevention, and prescription drug benefit design. She also worked at the Government Accountability Office (GAO), formerly the General Accounting Office, where she developed reports and testimonies for Congress on such issues as patient protection in biomedical research, long-term care, and requirements for employer-sponsored health insurance.
