The Reimbursement Policy & Strategies workshop is designed with all CRNAs in mind, including for those who do their own billing and those with limited or no reimbursement experience, and may also appeal to RRNAs who want to learn more for their future careers. The workshop delves into the basics of reimbursement and some of the hot topics applicable to CRNAs, including the basics of reimbursement, billing for services at critical access hospitals, an overview of the American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) and CPT Editorial processes that drive payment and reimbursement, and the Medicare teaching rules.
Learning Objectives:
Examine the fundamentals of the Medicare rural pass-through payment program.
Examine Critical Access Hospital (CAH) billing, including the difference in CAH method I and method II.
