Sheri Biggs was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2024 and is currently serving her first term of public office. She becomes just the third female from South Carolina elected to the House, the first to represent South Carolina’s Third District.
In Congress, she serves on the Homeland Security; Foreign Affairs; and Science, Space, and Technology Committees.
A Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, recent graduate of Air War College, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a Wife and Mother, Sheri uses her unique, diverse background and lifetime of experiences in service.
With over three decades in health care - from an Intensive Care Unit Nurse to a licensed nursing home administrator and health services consultant to volunteer service of veterans’ and first responders’ mental health needs, Sheri cares passionately about helping others heal. Now, with our nation suffering from mental, fiscal, and spiritual problems, Sheri is focused on treating Washington’s health problems with truth-seeking, servant leadership.
In addition to her healthcare career, Sheri has served with distinction in the Air National Guard. The recipient of the Aerial Achievement Medal, Sheri has served as medical crew director of five combat missions and three combat support missions while operating in hostile environments in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.
Sheri’s unique educational background includes earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Samford University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Carolina Bible College in Christian Ministries and has completed advanced education curriculum at Air War College.
A dedicated wife and mother, Sheri is a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Anderson, where she provides counseling. Active in the community, Sheri also volunteers at the Dream Center and other community and veterans organizations.
