Myra K. Branch, DNP, CRNA, APRN, FAANA, has been a Senior Nurse Anesthetist in a Level One Trauma Center for over 37 years. As a member of the overnight in-house trauma team, she administers anesthesia for critically ill patients undergoing emergency surgery, organ transplantation, and diagnostic procedures.
Her education includes a Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree from the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, a Diploma of Anesthesia from Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia in Charlotte, NC, a Master of Science (MS) degree from Georgetown University, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.
She is currently the Chair of the AANA Leadership Identification Committee (LIC) FY 24-25 and former Vice-Chair of the LIC FY 23 – 24. She has served on the AANA Bylaws and Resolutions Committee and Chaired the Resolutions Committee. A participant in the AANA inaugural Ascend CRNA Leadership Development Program 2023 - 2024 and a Fellow of the AANA.
Her career is dedicated to excellence in clinical practice, teaching, service, and leadership, including being a member of a cohort to establish a Nurse Anesthesia program at Georgetown University, serving as clinical faculty, and past President of the Virginia Association of Nurse Anesthetists (VANA).
